GLOBAL STOCKS STRUGGLE ON EARNINGS SEASON NERVES

According to the  Wall Street Journal that the global stocks struggled for direction Tuesday as investors grew cautious about what is expected to be a grim first-quarter earnings season.

The Stoxx Europe 600 was down 0.2% mid-morning, after Wall Street fell late in the session.Furthermore, Futures pointed to a small opening gain for the S&P 500. Changes futures don’t necessarily reflect market moves after the opening bell.

It added that the Investors on both sides of the Atlantic were nervous about upcoming first-quarter earnings reports, which are expected to show a steep contraction following a rocky start to the year.
