According to Media sources, Donald Trump kicked Independence Day off with a series of tweets about terrorist attacks that took place around the globe over the weekend, arguing that he was best equipped to deal with the problem.
“The third mass attack in days by ISIL. 200 dead in Baghdad, worst in many years. We do not have leadership that can stop this!” Trump opined. Before that, he commented on a Saturday attack in the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka, saying, “In Bangladesh, hostages were immediately killed by ISIL terrorists if they were unable to cite a verse from the Koran. 20 were killed!”
The media sources, Sunday’s suicide truck bomb in Baghdad followed a Saturday attack on a cafe in Dhaka and a June 28 assault at the Ataturk airport in Istanbul. The attacks left hundreds dead, including at least one American.
Affiliates of ISIL have taken credit for the assaults, which have taken place as the Islamic holy month of Ramadan draws to a close. In May, ISIL spokesman called on adherents to make the holiday “a month of pain for infidels everywhere.”
